Lagardère Travel Retail partners with Townsville Brewing Company to open ‘The Bar’ in Townsville Airport

The travel retailer who has enjoyed a long and successful partnership with Townsville Airport is thrilled to have partnered with local and iconic Townsville Brewing Company to bring a new and refreshed bar offer to the Airport and its community, known as ‘The Bar’.

Serving the popular Townsville Bitter and Tropical Coast Pale Ale on tap along with a rotating showcase of different brews, The Bar also proudly serves Campos Coffee, one of Australia’s leading specialty coffee roasters, along with a selection of bakery, sandwiches and pastries.

The Bar underwent a complete refresh and has increased not only its food and beverage offer, but its trading space from 60sqm to 102sqm. Its design is aligned with ‘The Brewery’ atmosphere in the old Townsville Post Office and includes a large historical image of the Flinders Street and old Townsville Post Office.

Townsville Brewing Company Head Brewer Sam Lloyd said the local products were the star of the new bar.“We are pleased to be partnering with Lagardère Travel Retail and the Airport to bring fresh local produce to the gateway of North Queensland. It’s really critical that big business supports smaller local businesses, and we are confident the airport will provide great exposure to our incredible offering of local goods.”

Isabelle Yates,Townsville Airport General Manager Commercial said she was excited about the expanded food and beverage offering at the airport, which would enhance the passenger experience. “We have been pushing to have more local produce available in the terminal –and we have achieved just that.”
